In-Form Racing Genk Striker Samatta Targets Win Against Wilfred Ndidi & Nigeria
Published: September 03, 2016
Tanzania skipper Mbwana Samatta has talked about Saturday’s African Cup of Nations qualifier between his side and Nigeria, and is confident they can get a result in Uyo.
Ahead of that clash at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, the Racing Genk striker has led by example, arriving in Uyo from Belgium, before his international teammates joined him later on Thursday.
“We cannot move backwards but forward.’’ Samatta was quoted as saying by Daily News Tanzania.
“We are going to pull ourselves together and see how we are going to win the match.’’
The 23-year-old Samatta will come up against his club teammate Wilfred Ndidi if the former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star is utilized by German coach Rohr.
Both Racing Genk players have been involved in every single game in the Belgian top-flight in the new season, with Samatta registering his name on the score sheet three times from five appearances.
