Ex-Golden Eaglets Trainee Ovie Ejaria Scores First Goal For Liverpool
Published: September 03, 2016
Nigerian midfielder Ovie Ejaria opened his goalscoring account for the first team of Liverpool in their 2-1 loss to Huddersfield Town in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Friday.
The game was arranged by the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to keep his players not called up for international duty fit ahead of next weekend’s meeting with Leicester City in the Premier League.
After five appearances for the first team during pre-season, Ejaria had not found the back of the net but those stats changed when he drilled home a header after he was set up by Firmino in the 55th minute.
The 18-year-old , who was included in the starting line-up, was replaced by Phillips in the 85th minute.
London-born Ejaria is spending his third straight season at Liverpool after transferring from Arsenal in summer of 2014.
