Three Players Of Nigerian Descent Feature As England Lose To Boys From Brazil
Published: September 04, 2016
Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Josh Onomah started as England U20s lost 2-1 to their Brazilian counterparts in an international friendly on Sunday afternoon.
A third player of Nigerian descent, Charlton Athletic sensation Ademola Lookman, entered into the fray at the start of the second half, the same time Tomori was replaced.
Two first half goals from Paqueta and Malcolm gave the visitors a two-goal advantage before Dominic Calvert-Lewin pulled a goal back for the Young Lions with ten minutes remaining.
Lookman, 18, was impressive when he came on, creating a couple of chances for his teammates but the Brazilian defense did not panic and cleared their lines.
Brazil won the penalty shootout that took place after the game 3-2.
