Arsenal Plan New Contract Offer For Nigeria Wonderkid Iwobi
Published: October 05, 2016
Arsenal are hoping to tie down Nigeria international Alex Iwobi to a new long-term contract, barely six months after penning a fresh deal.
The United Kingdom edition of The Sun says Gunners manager Arsene Wenger wants to reward the attacking midfielder for establishing himself in the first team.
Born in Lagos, Iwobi joined Arsenal at the age of seven and rose through the ranks before making his competitive first team debut against Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup.
The 20-year-old might earn his seventh international cap when the Super Eagles trade tackles with Zambia in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday.
Iwobi pockets 25,000 pounds every week at Arsenal.
