Exclusive : Arsenal Keeping Tabs On Sporting Kansas Nigerian Teen Sensation Selbol
Published: October 12, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Premier League club Arsenal could have another Nigerian player in their ranks in the near future, with a top scout of the London club monitoring the progress of Sporting Kansas whizkid Nansel Selbol.
The Nigerian scout helped to broker the deal that took Nigeria U20 international Kelechi Nwakali to the Emirates this summer, and had recommended Super Eagles rising star Kelechi Iheanacho to the club before he was snapped up by Man City in 2014.
Nansel Selbol is regarded as one of the top teenage stars in the American leagues, so much so that the official website of Major League Soccer included him in their list of top five youngsters primed to break out in 2016.
The tricky attacking midfielder has a rolling contract with Sporting KC and Arsenal do not need to splash crazy money to acquire his rights if they decide to firm up their interest.
Born and raised in Jos, Selbol turned out for C.O.D. United FC and Plateau United before his switch to the United States.
