Four Nigerian Stars In Action Against Barcelona In Women Champions League

Four players of Nigerian descent were in action in the UEFA Women’s Champions League game between Minsk and Barcelona at Mini Estadi on Wednesday evening, which finished 2-1 in favour of the Spanish team.
Onome Ebi, Halimatu Ayinde and Emuedi Ogbayagbevkha made the starting line-up for the Belarus team, while teammates Aminat Yakubu and Gift Otuwe made the bench.
Having lost the first leg 3-0, Ogbayagbevkha gave Minsk hope that they could mount a comeback when she registered her name on the score sheet in the 52nd minute, only for the homers to score two goals in the 61st and 76th minute.
Ebi, who went the distance, received a yellow card in the 85th minute, and Ayinde was replaced by Yakubu in the 58th minute.
Otuwe was on the bench for the entire duration of the game.
