England U21 Call-Ups For Nigeria Targets Tammy Abraham, Dominic Iorfa
Published: November 03, 2016
Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham has been called up to represent England U21s squad ahead of their international friendlies against Italy and France this month.
Aged 19, the Bristol City frontman came off the bench to make his debut for Aidy Boothroyd’s side against Kazakhstan in a European Championship qualifier last month, before notching a brace on his full debut against Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Joining Tammy Abraham in the squad is Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dominic Iorfa, while there was no place in the 23-man roster for Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom who is recovering from injury.
Both players have been approached to represent the Nigerian senior team but remain committed to England’s youth teams for the time being.
England, who have qualified for the Euro Finals, face Italy at St. Mary’s Stadium on Thursday 10 November, then tackle France in Paris four days later.
