Nigeria Targets Abraham, Iorfa Start As England U21s Suffer First Loss In 17 MonthsTwo players of Nigerian descent in the shape of Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham and Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dominic Iorfa were included in the starting Line-up, as England U21s suffered their first loss since June 2015 against France on Monday night.

Duncan Watmore put the Young Lions 1-0 up with an outrageous chip, but the hosts leveled matters nine minutes later through Moussa Dembele.

The third goal of the contest in Bondoufle was scored by France’s Celtic star Dembele in the 64th minute, only for Chelsea talent Lewis Baker to equalize with a stunning free kick, and not long afterwards France netted the winner.

The Nigeria Football Federation are known to be monitoring the performances of Abraham and Iorfa, with a view to handing them call-ups to the Super Eagles next year.

Elsewhere, Chelsea midfielder Tariq Uwakwe and Fulham wonderkid Dennis Adeniran started for England U18s in their goalless draw versus France at the the ABAX Stadium.
