Nigeria Star Fegor Ogude Called Monkey By Arsenal Tula Player
Published: November 27, 2016
Amkar Perm midfielder Fegor Ogude has revealed that he didn’t realize
that he was racially abused during the Russian Premier League match with
Arsenal Tula on Saturday due to the language barrier.
After the contest at Zvezda Stadion, Guinea international Sékou Condé claimed that Dmitry Aydov used racist language towards himself and Ogude, and he called the Nigerian “monkey” and “black”.
“It is something they said in Russian. I did not realize it, because I do not know the language, ” Ogude said to life.ru.
“But after the game, the guys from the team told me that he insulted me using racist language. I believe them. Football is an emotional game, but very silly to call the opponent a monkey.”
Dmitry Aydov has denied that he called Ogude a monkey, saying that the story was invented by Conde.
General Director of Amkar Perm Igor Rezvuhin says the club will not formally report the incident to the authorities.
