Iheanacho Will Not Join Tottenham In January Despite Arrival Of Gabriel Jesus
Published: December 02, 2016
Kelechi Iheanacho’s father, James Iheanacho, has dismissed speculation in the media that claimed that the Manchester City wonderkid could be heading to Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
With the imminent arrival of Brazil international striker Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras in January, it is being suggested that Iheanacho would slip down the pecking order and could be farmed out on loan or sold to enable him play regularly.
“I have no idea he is joining Tottenham in January, Kelechi has never discussed that with me, ” James Iheanacho told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“It is just rumour, he will be in Manchester City in January, he is not joining another club.”
In August, Iheanacho, 20, signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the Citizens until 2021.
