QPR Boss Hits Out At Referee For Sending Off Onuoha
Published: December 28, 2016
Nigerian-born defender Nedum Onuoha was disappointed regarding the red card he was given by referee Keith Stroud in Queens Park Rangers 3-0 loss to Championship pacesetters Brighton & Hove on Tuesday.
With the visitors trailing 2-0 at the The American Express Community Stadium, Onuoha was dismissed in the 56th minute for apparently bringing down Baldock, and manager Ian Holloway thinks the referee got it wrong.
“The skipper is gutted in the dressing room because none of us feel it was a red card, ” Holloway said to the club’s official website.
“We were a little out of position defensively, but the decision to send him off was really ridiculous.
“Will the referee admit he’s made a mistake with the red card? I don’t know.”
This season, Onuoha has started all the 23 matches contested by Queens Park Rangers in the Championship, logging 2,036 minutes and scoring two goals.
