BK Hacken Reckon Sweden Top Scorer Owoeri Is Too Old To Be Sold To MLS, Chinese Teams
Published: December 28, 2016
John Owoeri is attracting huge interest from Chinese Super League and Major League Soccer clubs ahead of the opening of the transfer window, according to reports.
The BK Hacken star is in hot demand after ending the 2016 campaign with 17 goals to finish as top goalscorer in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
But Sporting director of BK Hacken Sonny Karlsson thinks a transfer is not imminent because of the Nigerian’s age.
“I do not know ... no, nothing yet. They say Allsvenskan top scorers are always sold, but at the same time, John’s age is against him. We’ll see, ” said Karlsson to fotbolldirekt.se.
The 29-year-old Owoeri has a valid contract with BK Hacken until the end of next season.
