Oliseh Reveals :Manchester United Legend Ryan Giggs, Ex-Chelsea Coach Di Matteo Were My Classmates
Published: January 03, 2017
Speaking at a press conference during his unveiling as coach of Fortuna Sittard, ex-Nigeria skipper Sunday Oliseh has revealed that Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs and Roberto Di Matteo were his classmates while he was studying for his coaching badges.
The former Ajax Amsterdam and Juventus midfielder explained that he accepted the offer from the Dutch Eerste Divisie side because he wanted to be close to his family in Belgium.
“Years ago I got the highest coaching qualification in England, in a class with guys like Ryan Giggs and Roberto Di Matteo, ” said Oliseh.
“Now I want to bring my football philosophy into practice. There were other clubs interested in me.
“But they are thousands of kilometers away from my home (Belgium). And I want to be close to my family, my family means the world to me. ”
Oliseh’s main target at Fortuna Sittard for the second half of the season is keeping the team in the second-tier.
