Brighton On Brink Of Deal For Arsenal Nigerian Wonderkid
Published: January 30, 2017
Promotion hopefuls Brighton & Hove Albion have leapfrogged Aston Villa, Brentford, Cardiff and Fulham in the race for the signature of England U21 star Chuba Akpom, according to reports from England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Arsenal striker is expected to complete his switch to the Seagulls before the close of the transfer window on Tuesday.
This would be Akpom’s fifth loan spell away from the Emirates Stadium, having previously spent time on loan at Hull City, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Coventry City, if the transfer materializes.
Because of a back injury, the English-born Nigerian attacker has played only once for the first team of the Gunners this term.
