Promising Nigerian Striker Akpobire Making Inroads At Bristol City
Published: February 24, 2017
The talented English-born striker of Nigerian descent Kel Akpobire is progressing at Championship outfit Bristol City, and will fancy his chances of breaking into the first team in future.
The youngster has been impressive for the U18 team of the Robins this season, and has made the most appearances for the team at that level, scoring 4 goals.
Because of his impact for the U18s squad, Akpobire has been invited to train with the U23s squad and played the second half of their 4-0 loss to Vancouver Whitecaps in February.
This same month, the highly-rated teenager needed only eight minutes to score for the first team in their 6-0 hammering of Cheltenham Town in a behind-closed-doors friendly, after coming off the bench in the 80th minute.
He started for the U23s in their 4-0 rout of Swansea City in the PL2 Cup on Thursday.
