Why Ranieri Was Dismissed? Not For Starting Musa Ahead Of Gray - Report
Published: February 26, 2017
Top British newspaper Daily Mail has dismissed reports that Leicester City parted company with Claudio Ranieri for starting Ahmed Musa ahead of Demarai Gray in their Champions League clash with Sevilla on Wednesday night.
The Italian manager’s fate was already sealed even before the squad traveled to Andalusia, with the club management deciding to relieve him of his duties after the 2-0 loss to Swansea City on February 12.
Earlier it was reported that Leicester City’s top players held a meeting with the leadership of the club and were in favour of Ranieri’s resignation.
A day after the Premier League champs lost 2-1 to Sevilla, the management announced the dismissal of Ranieri.
Leicester City occupy the 18th position in the top-flight with 21 points in the kitty after 25 matches played.
