Uncapped Barnet Striker Akinde Takes Season Tally To 23

Uncapped Nigerian striker John Akinde bagged a brace as Barnet came from behind to beat Cheltenham 3-1 at the Hive Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The home team equalized in the 70th minute when Curtis Weston riffled in from 18 yards after he was teed up by first-half substitute Simoen Akinola.
On 77 minutes, Akinde scored from close range to give The Bees the lead before netting his second of the day a minute later when he latched on to a long ball and slotted home.
The 27-year-old’s brace took his tally for the season to 23 goals in the English fourth-tier.
Barnet winger Justin Amaluzor came off the bench with 20 minutes left on the clock and saw his penalty appeal turned down in the closing minutes after he went down in the box.
