Rangers interested in Genk centre-back eligible for Super Eagles, Black Stars and La Roja

Scottish giants Rangers are reportedly eyeing a move for Racing Genk's Mujaid Sadick, a versatile centre-back eligible to represent Nigeria, Ghana and Spain at international level.

The 25-year-old has been one of Genk’s standout performers this season, impressing both defensively and offensively, as the Belgian side continues to push for domestic success.

Sadick has made 18 appearances across all competitions this term, contributing one assist in Genk’s thrilling 3–2 victory over Zulte Waregem in August.

His consistent performances have not gone unnoticed, with Rangers now expressing strong interest in bringing him to Ibrox.

According to transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, the Light Blues have made an initial enquiry about the possibility of signing Sadick during the January 2026 transfer window.

The Glasgow-based club is reportedly keen to bolster its defensive options after conceding 10 goals in 10 league games so far this season.

Born in Logroño, Spain, Sadick progressed through the Spanish football system and represented La Roja’s U17 and U18 teams, making two and one appearances respectively.

Despite his early international experience with Spain, he remains eligible to play for either Nigeria’s Super Eagles or Ghana’s Black Stars, owing to his Nigerian and Ghanaian parentage.

With his contract at Genk running until 2028, any potential transfer could depend on Rangers’ willingness to meet the Belgian club’s valuation.
