Iheanacho Trying To Persuade Iwobi To Join Him At Manchester City
Published: March 30, 2017
Kelechi Iheanacho has attempted to persuade his Super Eagles teammate and pal Alex Iwobi to join him at Manchester City.
The two 20-year-olds had discussions in that regard during the Nigerian national team get-together in London, but the Hale End Academy product will put his friendship with Iheanacho aside when Arsenal face Man City at the Emirates on Sunday.
“We’ve had a bit of banter this week. He was trying to persuade me to come to Manchester City and I was trying to persuade him to come to Arsenal. I’d like to play against him, ” Iwobi told Sky Sports News HQ.
“We’ve talked about the game a little bit, but we’ve been focused on playing for Nigeria. I’ve just got to prepare now and beat him!”
Iwobi has spent the whole of his career at Arsenal, rising through the ranks before making his debut against Sheffield Wednesday in October 2015.
