Former Arsenal Target Iheanacho Will Not Start For Man City At The Emirates
Published: April 02, 2017
Kelechi Iheanacho will not start for Manchester City in their eagerly anticipated Premier League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon, despite his heroics while on international duty with the Super Eagles.
The Taye Academy product netted a late equalizer against Senegal before scoring in a practice game between the Super Eagles Team A and Team B six days ago.
Manchester Evening News writers James Robson, Charlotte Duncker and Ciaran Kelly have predicted Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up, and left out Iheanacho.
Argentina striker Sergio Agüero will lead City’s frontline and he will be flanked by Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sané.
Iheanacho has started a league game against Arsenal before, on the penultimate round of the 2015-16 season, while he came off the bench at the Etihad Stadium in December.
The 20-year-old was courted by Arsenal before he agreed terms with Manchester City in 2015.
