Nigerian Right Wing-Back Swaps Jerseys With Chelsea Legend John Terry
Published: August 07, 2017
Nigerian defender Ola Aina exchanged jerseys with Chelsea legend John Terry after Hull City's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on match day one in the EFL Championship.
The versatile right wing-back was delighted to face his former skipper, adding that he looked up to the former Three Lions star during their days together at Stamford Bridge.
''I've still got his number in my phone and he is somebody who has helped me a lot over the years," Aina told Hull City's official website.
"Playing against him on Saturday was a little bit surreal - every time I saw him on the pitch it was like going back to a training match at Chelsea!
''He's been like a mentor to me over the last few years and I'm sure he's somebody I can still call on for a bit of reassurance if things get tough.''
Aina lasted ninety minutes on his competitive debut for The Tigers, and was involved in the move which led to his team's equalizer in the 62nd minute.
