Joel Obi Doubtful To Face Juventus, Out For At Least 10 Days
Published: September 13, 2017
Joel Obi is doubtful to make Torino's match day squad when they face Juventus in the derby on September 23.
Through their official website, Torino have confirmed that the Nigeria international has suffered a muscular injury to the left thigh biceps, which led to his substitution after 10 minutes against Benevento.
The Maroons also stated on Tuesday afternoon that Obi will be evaluated in the next ten to fifteen days, and it is envisaged that the attacking midfielder will resume training with the squad if he cleared by the medics.
It is a foregone conclusion that the Super Eagle will not be available for selection in Sunday's game versus Sampdoria and the trip to Udinese on September 20.
Joel Obi enjoyed a blistering start to the season, having contributed to three goals from four appearances in all competitions.
He played for Inter Milan and Parma before he was snapped up by Torino in 2015.
