Done Deal : Ivory Coast-Born Defender Pens New Contract With Chelsea

Marc Guehi has been rewarded for his outstanding displays for the youth teams of Chelsea, with the Premier League champions offering him a new contract.
According to Chelsea TV, Marc Guehi has signed his first professional contract with the club.
Born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Guehi joined Chelsea at U8 level and rose through the ranks before making his debut for the U18s in 2015.
The 17-year-old was a regular player for Chelsea U18s that won the FA Youth Cup and U18 Premier League in 2017 and capped off a fine season by captaining England at the 2017 European Under-17 Championships.
The right-footed teenager can be deployed at right-back or centre-half, but has played as a central defender in the four matches he has featured for the U18s in the U18 Premier League so far this season.
In June 2016, Marc Guehi signed a scholarship deal with Chelsea, along with Nigerian midfielder Tariq Uwakwe.
