Published: September 19, 2017
The Hale End Academy product trained with the first team on Tuesday morning at London Colney, the Gunners' final workout before tomorrow's League Cup tie at home to Doncaster Rovers.
Akpom was on the books of the Emirates outfit for thirteen straight years before Sanchez was acquired from Barcelona in 2014, and he has enjoyed a cordial relationship with the Chilean in the last three years.
Writing on Twitter, Chuba Akpom said : ''Always learning from my amigo ! ⚽️🔥⚽️🔥 #AFC''
The Arsenal number 32 could make his maiden appearance of the season for the first team against Doncaster Rovers, having failed to come off the bench in the Europa League clash against Cologne.
Akpom has featured against Liverpool, Manchester United and Leicester City in Premier League 2 in a bid to maintain his match fitness.
