Super Eagles star Hope Akpan, who has fully recovered from injury, was a 33rd minute substitute for Burton Albion number two Brayford, while Tottenham Hotspur loanee Josh Onomah played the last 21 minutes for Aston Villa.
Les Parry, Glynn Lodge and Jim Barron represented Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton respectively.
Other clubs that were interested in the fixture include Bolton Wanderers, Cardiff City, Wolves, Bristol City and Sheffield United.
