Nigeria World Cup Star Tells AIK What To Do If They Intend To Keep Him
Published: September 28, 2017
Out-of-favour Nigeria international Chinedu Obasi has explained that he didn't join AIK for financial reasons but to get more playing opportunities, nonetheless, he expected the Swedish Allsvenskan outfit to offer him a better contract.
With the current agreement between club and player set to run out in the next two months, Obasi has sent a message to AIK, that they should increase his wages if they intend to keep him.
''I do not know. If I will be left in this club, which I would love, the management must give me a contract that reflects the qualities I contribute to the plan and treat me as the quality player I am. The club must offer me,'' Obasi was quoted as saying by fotbolltransfers.com,who made reference to Sportbladet.
''I actually expected a better contract this summer. What I got this summer made me disappointed. However, I do not want to let go, but just be honest.
''I could also have chosen other clubs, but AIK is a kind of home to me and I know the people here. I think, however, that AIK was surprised when they got me so cheap''.
Since Obasi's return to AIK, the Nigerian World Cup star has scored 3 goals in 4 matches, while providing an assist in their 4-1 win over IK Sirius.
