Manchester United Set The Ball Rolling To Sign Malmo Wonderkid
Published: September 30, 2017
Manchester United are working on a deal to sign Malmo FF wonderkid Lucas Gomes, according to reports.
Swedish website ungdomsfotboll.se says the Red Devils have invited the promising Malmö talent to Manchester, where he will train with the club and play some trial matches.
It must be noted that Gomes, 14, is still a minor and a transfer to Old Trafford can only materialize when he celebrates his sixteenth birthday in the next two years since he is in the possession of a Swedish passport.
''It will be very fun to work out as well as play with them. I think there will be a higher pace there but I hope and I think I will handle it. Looking really forward to this adventure,'' said Gomes to the website.
Lucas Gomes has been likened to former CSKA Moscow striker Carlos Strandberg due to the similarities in their playing style and physique.
He represented FK Karlskrona last year before he was snapped up by Swedish Allsvenskan powerhouse Malmo.
