In-Form Liverpool Starlet Bobby Adekanye To Be Rested Against Leicester?
Published: October 29, 2017
Ibadan-born Bobby Adekanye might not figure for Liverpool U23 when they take on Leicester City in the Premier League 2 on Sunday afternoon.
With the winger playing 68 minutes of the U18s 4-1 hammering of Rangers at Ibrox on Friday night, today's contest at Prenton Park has come too soon for the Netherlands youth-teamer to be considered by manager Neil Critchley.
In addition, it is highly unlikely that the 18-year-old will play three games in the space of five days, with The Reds U19s squad battling Maribor in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday, November 1.
Adekanye was impressive against the Scottish team, scoring in the 20th minute to make it 2-1 and was involved in the build up to Liverpool's fourth goal.
Before the former Barcelona talent was withdrawn, he had a chance to increase the lead but fired over the bar after a brilliant solo run down the right.
Ovie Ejaria (Liverpool) and Layton Ndukwu (Leicester City) are both available for selection.
