Victor Moses Watches On As Chelsea Beat Manchester United
Published: November 05, 2017
Chelsea pipped Manchester United in a 1-0 dominant win at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening, with Alvaro Morata grabbing the decisive winning goal.
Manchester United endured an uneventful evening as they had David de Gea to thank, with the goaltender putting in a number of top drawer saves to keep down the scoreline.
The Blues flew out of the blocks and were pressing their opponents all over in the first period and soon had the ball in their opponent's goal but it was chalked off, Morata having being adjudged to have pushed Jones who diverted into his own net.
But Chelsea were eventually up after the break following some brilliant linkup play, Azpilicueta finding Morata with an inch-perfect cross and the Spaniard as well leaving De Gea rooted with a beautiful header on the 55th minute.
Hazard who had earlier had a powerful effort beaten away by De Gea in the first period, was upfront again to test the keeper with another shot which he did well to palm over.
Super Eagles winger Victor Moses is recuperating from an injury was yet unavailable for this one, though the 26-year old was seen in the crowd just behind the Blues substitute bench, watching on as his side bagged the win.
Following the win, Chelsea moved up to fourth on the league table with 22 points from their eleven games so far while Manchester United maintained second spot but are now eight points adrift of their Manchester rivals.
