Chelsea Battling Manchester City For The New Gianluigi Donnarumma
Published: November 20, 2017
Premier League champions Chelsea have joined the race for Turkish goalkeeper Berke Ozer, according to reports.
Various reports in the Turkish press, including sports daily Fanatik, say The Blues will post scouts to run the rule over the 17-year-old Ozer when Altinordu tackle Gazişehir Gaziantep in the league on December 1, 2017.
Berke Ozer made his first-team debut for Altinordu in April, has six first-team appearances under his belt to date and has played three matches in this season's UEFA Youth League.
Manchester City have been credited with an interest in the highly-rated netminder.
The English Premier League clubs face competition from teams based in Germany, Italy and Spain for the services of the goalkeeper.
Berke Ozer represented Turkey at last month's Fifa U17 World Cup in India and was called up to the senior national team for a World Cup qualifier against Kosovo in June.
He has been likened to AC Milan star Gianluigi Donnarumma.
