Premier League champions Chelsea continue to monitor the performance of in-form Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo, who is spending the whole of this season on loan at Turkish Super Lig club Kasimpasa.
Turkish scout Tarkan Batgün has confirmed via Twitter that Chelsea scouts Eddie Newton and Christophe Lollichon watched Omeruo when Kasimpasa faced Fenerbahce at the ülker Stadyumu Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Spor Kompleksi (İstanbul) on Sunday evening.
Omeruo went the distance but could not prevent his team from losing 4-2 in the Istanbul derby.
The central defender has impressed in recent matches for club and country, and netted his first goal of the season in Kasimpasa's 2-1 win over Konyaspor on November 26.
He has found it difficult to break into Chelsea's first team since he was acquired from Sunshine Stars in January 2012, and has been farmed out on loan to ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough and Alanyaspor.
Omeruo extended his contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2020 before joining Kasimpasa in August 2017.
