New Everton Hero Ademola Lookman : I Should Have Scored A Hat-Trick
Published: December 08, 2017
Everton winger Ademola Lookman was disappointed not to bag a hat-trick in the Premier League team's 3-0 rout of Apollon Limassol in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
The England U21 international of Nigerian parentage has been talk of the town after his first-half brace helped the Toffees beat the Cypriots opponents in Nicosia, he opened the scoring with a header before giving his team a 2-0 lead with a superb strike from distance.
''It’s the first headed goal [of my career]. It was a brilliant ball in by Niko and I thought, ‘yes, I’m going to head this’. I was just happy to find the net,'' Lookman said to Everton's official website.
''I like shooting and if I get the chance I will do that, which is what I did for my second goal.
''One of the chances later, I could have squared the ball to Niko. Maybe I took the wrong option. I could have had a hat-trick but I had one of those days and the keeper saved two of my other chances.''
Lookman had not scored for Everton in twenty appearances before his first goal against Apollon Limassol.
