CSKA Loanee Samuel: Rohr In Touch With Me, Idowu & Ogude Worthy Of Playing At World Cup
Published: March 12, 2018
Left-back Brian Idowu is the only Nigerian player in the ranks of Amkar Perm called up by manager Gernot Rohr for the upcoming friendlies against Poland and Serbia, but his teammate Aaron Samuel has stated that himself and Fegor Ogude are equally worthy of playing at the 2018 World Cup.
The CSKA Moscow loanee stressed that he is contact with the Super Eagles coaching staff even though he has been omitted from the last three rosters.
Asked by the official website of Amkar Perm, fc-amkar.org who has more chances to be included in the squad list for the 2018 World Cup, Aaron answered : ''I can not answer this question. We are all good players, and everyone is equally worthy of getting there.''
The striker added : ''I am in touch (with the Super Eagles coaching staff). The national team of Nigeria has several friendly games ahead, and the team has a lot of good players around the world and many of them play in the top leagues.
''The coaching staff considers everyone, you just need to show the maximum. Let's see how everything goes.''
Aaron Samuel was last invited to the national team for the World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon in September 2017 while Fegor Ogude has been in the international wilderness for close to five years.
