Published: March 16, 2018
Arsenal are nine points behind champions Chelsea in the U18 Premier League standings following their 4-0 rout of Norwich City at Colney Training Centre in Norfolk on Friday afternoon, with seven players of Nigerian descent on parade.
Gunners quartet Tobi Omole, Joseph Olowu, James Olayinka and Folarin Balogun started while versatile winger Bukayo Saka was introduced in the 64th minute; Republic of Ireland youth-teamer Adam Idah was named in the Canaries starting line-up and was later joined on the pitch by Tyrese Omotoye just after the hour mark.
Balogun led the frontline, Omole was deployed as a defensive midfielder while Olowu started in his preferred central defensive position.
Olayinka doubled Arsenal's advantage in the 34th minute after Swanson had netted the opener six minutes into the contest.
Arsenal scored two more goals in the second half, substitute Saka wrote his name on the score-sheet in the 79th minute before setting up McEneff two minutes later for a 4-0 lead.
Saka has netted in his last three games for the Londoners in all competitions, against Brighton, Colchester United and Norwich City.
Next up for Kwame Ampadu's side is Tuesday's FA Youth Cup showdown with Blackpool.
