AFOTY Equals Premier League Record Held By Manchester United, Arsenal Legends
Published: March 31, 2018
2017 CAF African Player of the Year, Mohamed Salah, was once again the hero for Liverpool, netting the winner after 84 minutes in their 2-1 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles opened the scoring through Serbia international midfielder Luka Milivojevic, who converted a spot kick in the 13th minute before Sadio Mane and Salah scored in the second half to give the visitors their 19th win of the season.
Salah is having an amazing season, better than anyone expected before it began, having netted 37 goals in all competitions since completing his move from Italian outfit AS Roma.
Today, the Egypt international equaled a record jointly held by ex-Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo and ex-Arsenal star Robin van Persie.
He has scored in 21 out of 31 games this season, a record first set by Ronaldo in the 2007-2008 season before it was equaled by the Dutchman in the 2012-13 season.
Both Ronaldo and Van Persie were Manchester United players when they set this record.
