Nigerian Federation Target Ebere Eze Scores For Queens Park Rangers
Published: April 02, 2018
Nigeria Football Federation target Eberechi Eze tallied his seventh career goal in Queens Park Rangers' 4-1 rout of Norwich City in the EFL Championship today.
The Canaries found themselves trailing by two goals on the hour mark when Eze pounced in the box to score QPR's third goal and his second for the club's first team.
Prior to today's meeting at Loftus Road Stadium, the 19-year-old's only goal for the London team was against Sunderland in March, while he notched up five goals during his loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers in the first half of the season.
Massimo Luongo, Matt Smith and Ryan Manning were the other scorers for QPR, while the visitors took the lead when Manning put the ball into his own net in the 38th minute.
Born in London, Eze was handed a late invitation to train with the Super Eagles ahead of their friendly against Burkina Faso in March 2017, which was later cancelled.
The striker turned out for the youth teams of Arsenal, Fulham and Millwall before switching to QPR in the summer of 2016 following a successful trial.
Warri-born defender Nedum Onuoha went the distance for QPR against Norwich, while Eze subbed out with one minute left on the clock.
