Official : Central Defender Osaze Pens First Pro Deal With AFC Wimbledon
Published: April 06, 2018
Through official channels, EFL League One club AFC Wimbledon have announced that young Nigerian defender Osaze Urhoghide has inked his first professional contract with the club.
Osaze, nicknamed the Destroyer, is highly thought of at AFC Wimbledon and trained with the first-team during pre-season.
The 17-year-old was on the bench when the first team played Yeovil Town in the second round of the EFL Trophy back in December 2017.
The defender was delighted to be offered a new deal and told The Dons official website : ''I am so happy about it. Ever since I was young this is what I wanted to do. When I was at school I would say, 'I want to be a footballer'.
''Now the day has come. I know there is a lot more to do and it gets harder, but I'm really happy that this day has come.
''I look up to Anthony (Hartigan) because he has earned first-team opportunities and he's taken them. If I do what he has done then hopefully I can get a first-team opportunity and take it.''
