Gabon talisman Aubameyang fires warning to Super Eagles after scoring in Marseille's win v Brest

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent a warning to the Super Eagles as he scored in Marseille's 3-0 Ligue 1 win over Brest on Saturday.

The Panthers forward finished off a well-worked move down the right by Matt O’Riley, adding the final goal to secure the victory at the Stade Vélodrome.

The match marked Aubameyang’s last game for Marseille before joining the rest of the Gabon squad to prepare for the crucial World Cup playoff tie against Nigeria on November 13 in Morocco.

Aubameyang had earlier shown his sharp attacking instincts, controlling a lofted ball over the top and attempting to beat Brest goalkeeper Radosław Majecki, though his initial effort went wide.

His late goal ultimately confirmed Marseille’s dominance and ensured three points for the hosts, moving them to the top of Ligue 1.

Gabon’s captain is his country’s all-time leading scorer with 39 goals and is expected to play a pivotal role when facing the three-time Africa champions.

Despite Brest showing some early intent, Aubameyang’s contribution, combined with goals from Angel Gomes and Mason Greenwood, ensured a comfortable win for the hosts.

As Nigeria prepares for the World Cup playoff tie, Aubameyang's current form provides a clear signal of the threat he poses.

His experience and finishing ability will be central to Gabon's hopes of progressing.
