Published: April 10, 2018
Manchester City's German-born Nigerian midfielder Felix Nmecha enhanced
his growing reputation by scoring a hat-trick for the U18 team in their
5-0 rout of Blackburn Rovers at Blackburn Rovers Training Centre
(Brockhall Village, Lancashire) on Tuesday afternoon.
His treble today was the first time he has scored three goals in a game for Manchester City's U18 team in the U18 Premier League.
It took Manchester City seventeen minutes to open the scoring which they did when Felix Nmecha found the net before Simmonds doubled the advantage in the 35th minute of the first half.
Felix Nmecha scored the second of his three goals in the 80th minute, Zoubdi netted in the 86th minute, before the Nigerian converted from the spot to give Manchester City a 5-0 lead in the fourth minute of injury time.
Three countries Germany, Nigeria and England are engaged in a three-way tug-of-war for his services and he had two invitations to report for international duty last month but opted to represent Germany U18s, three years after he played for England U16s.
Felix's sibling Lukas Nmecha has notched up three hat-tricks in the Premier League 2 this term, against Derby County (2) and Tottenham Hotspur.
