Two Super Eagles Stars Omitted From Chelsea Squad For Inter Milan Clash
Published: July 27, 2018Chelsea new boss Maurizio Sarri has dropped the biggest hint yet that two Nigeria internationals are not in his plans for the forthcoming season after they were omitted from the squad that traveled to France on Friday evening.
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed by a Chelsea insider that Kenneth Omeruo, who shone like a million stars in Nigeria's 2-0 win over Iceland at the 2018 World Cup, and Academy product Ola Aina were not in the traveling party to Nice.
Aina had a convincing loan spell at Hull City last term, playing 46 games in all competitions and scoring his first professional goal for the Tigers while providing three assists.
Omeruo, who was signed from Sunshine Stars in January 2012, previously enjoyed loan spells at ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasımpaşa and Alanyaspor.
The central defender has been training with the loan group since he returned to Cobham for pre-season and nothing has changed, while Aina traveled with the team to Australia last week but missed out on the latest roster following the return of some of the World Cup players.
As previously reported, there's a place for Victor Moses in the Chelsea squad and he could figure in a friendly against Inter Milan on Saturday, July 28.
