Ex-Chelsea Striker Who Once Played On The Same Team As Abraham, Solanke Scores For Daggers
Published: August 15, 2018
One-time Nigeria Football Federation target Chike Kandi opened his goalscoring account for the 2018-2019 campaign as Dagenham & Redbridge lost 2-1 to Aldershot Town in the latest round of matches in the English National League on Tuesday evening.
Aldershot Town had established a two-goal lead before Kandi pulled a goal back with 16 minutes left on the clock.
The 22-year-old striker volleyed in from close-range at the far-post after a dangerous ball from the left side.
Kandi had started the Daggers first three games in the league against Boreham Wood, Maidstone United and Maidenhead United before entering the game as a 63rd minute substitute at the Electrical Services Stadium.
Back then, he was highly tipped to make the grade at Chelsea after scoring goals aplenty for their U16 team, which earned him a scholarship.
He once played on the same Chelsea U18 team as Tammy Abraham and Dominic Solanke and featured in the 2013-14 UEFA Youth League.
Since departing Chelsea in 2014, Kandi has played for Woking, Brighton & Hove Albion, Bognor Regis and Leatherhead FC.
