Young Nigerian Striker Nominated For Leicester City Goal Of The Month
Published: September 11, 2018
Young Nigerian striker Layton Ndukwu has continued to get recognition for his impressive start to the season and the latest is his nomination for Leicester City's Goal of the Month for August 2018.
The 20-year-old found the net three times in Premier League 2 matches last month against Swansea City and Blackburn Rovers (2).
Ndukwu's second goal against Blackburn which he scored off as assist from the highly-rated Nigerian fullback Calvin Ughelumba is up for the Foxes Goal of the Month prize.
The striker's goal and four efforts from Harry Maguire, Christian Fuchs, Rachid Ghezzal and Raúl Uche Rubio have been shortlisted for the accolade.
Only yesterday, the former England U17 international found out that he missed out on the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for August after he was nominated for the award.
Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho opened his 2018-19 account against Fleetwood Town on August 28 in the League Cup but the goal has been omitted from the shortlist.
The winner of Leicester City's Goal of the Month will be announced on Thursday, September 13.
