Ex-Arsenal Star Ubogagu Pledges International Future To England Ahead Of Nigeria, USA; Receives Maiden Call-Up
Published: October 30, 2018The English Football Association are nailed-on favourites ahead of the United States Soccer Federation and the Nigeria Football Federation for the services of former Arsenal Women striker Chioma Ubogagu.
England boss Phil Neville has included Ubogagu on the roster for the international friendlies against Austria (Nov 8) and Sweden (Nov 11).
Chi's parent club, Orlando Pride have informed via their official website that she was eligible to play for the United States and Nigeria but has elected to play for England moving forward.
Born in London to Nigerian parents, the 26-year-old previously represented United States U18, U20 and U23 national teams and received her first USA senior national team call-up in November 2017.
The Brisbane Roar attacker was in the United States U20 side that defeated Nigeria 2-0 in the semifinals of the 2012 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup.
Ex-Chelsea star Eniola Aluko won over one hundred international caps for England's Lionesses before quitting the team in 2016.
Liverpool's Rinsola Babajide represented England at the 2018 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup .
