Has Unai Emery Banned Arsenal Players From Drinking Juice? Iwobi Clears The Air
Published: November 03, 2018Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has played down reports that Arsenal boss Unai Emery banned the players from drinking fruit juice following his appointment as coach of the North London club in May 2018.
It was earlier claimed that the Spanish football tactician banned the players from drinking fruit juice at the team's canteen so as to closely monitor their fitness but Iwobi has said that those reports have been exaggerated.
With the Gunners getting eight points from losing positions so far this season, the best in the Premier League, the Hale End Academy product has revealed that the players have been working their socks off in training after Emery replaced Arsene Wenger.
'' I keep reading that juice is banned but we do get it in the morning and there’s even juice in here, so he’s not too strict," Iwobi was quoted as saying by arsenal.com.
''You can see from each player we’re giving [a major] shift in work and the intensity.
''You can see the coach demands a lot, not just in matches but in training, and the results show on the pitch.''
The Gunners, who lost their first two games of the season to Manchester City and Chelsea, are now unbeaten in nine straight games and sit fifth in the provisional standings with 23 points.
