Arsenal Coach Explains Why He Replaced Alex Iwobi At Half-Time
Published: November 11, 2018
Arsenal coach Unai Emery has explained that his decision to substitute Nigeria international Alex Iwobi at half-time in his side's 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers was a tactical one.
The Hale End Academy product made way for Matteo Guendouzi who was brought in to shore up the midfield and stop Wolves from their counter-attacking play.
''Tactically it was a change. I was thinking of having more possession inside,'' Emery told reporters post-match
''We did sometimes good in this situation and we created chances to score.
''But they worked well defensively.''

Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr would be delighted that Iwobi came through today's game unscathed as he is expected to link up with the Nigeria squad at their get-together in Asaba by Tuesday ahead of an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.
Arsenal go into the international break with 24 points, 8 less than pacesetters City who won the Manchester derby 3-1 on Sunday evening.
