After a spectacular display for Derby County in their win against Premier League opposition Southampton in the Emirates FA Cup on Wednesday, Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori has received praise from Liverpool hero Danny Murphy.
The England U21 star of Nigerian descent was congratulated by Murphy, who was co-commentator on the BBC’s coverage of the game, and saw first-hand the impact made by the central defender.
''Tomori has been absolutely outstanding. Too strong, too quick, too calm. They (Derby) had some really good performances, he’s been the best of them for me,'' Murphy was quoted as saying by Derby Telegraph.
''He’s been absolutely superb, he looks a real, real player.
''I like his maturity, I think his passing is excellent, he’s good in the air, he’s got the lot – a really, really good player.''
Tomori has played 2,730 minutes of football for Derby County so far this season.
