Michael Olaitan, Abiola Dauda On Target For Apollon Pontou, Giresunspor From The Spot
Published: February 11, 2019Former Nigeria U20 international Michael Olaitan and striker Abiola Dauda were on target for their respective clubs in league matches on Monday, February 11.
Olaitan, well known for his stint at Olympiakos, netted his second of the season as Apollon Pontou thrashed Ergotelis 3-0 on game week 16 in the Greek First Division.
The attacking midfielder cum striker converted a spot kick on the half-hour mark to open the scoring.
He had a six-month loan spell at Ergotelis during the second half of the 2014-15 season, scoring one goal in 12 appearances.
In the Turkish 1 Lig, Abiola Dauda also scored from the penalty spot as Giresunspor were held to a 1-1 draw by Umraniyespor at the Giresun Atatürk Stadyumu.
The former Kalmar, Red Star Belgrade and Vitesse Arnhem star cancelled out Andreas Vasilogiannis's opener in the 86th minute, taking his tally to 9 goals in 17 league games in the process.
