What Nigerian Fans Are Saying After Flying Eagles Loss On Penalties to Mali
Published: February 14, 2019
Nigeria's Flying Eagles might provisionally have to settle for third place in the on-going U-20 Championship in Niger following their 4-3 loss to Mali on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Nigerians were certainly displeased with what the boys churned out at the Stade General Seyni Kountchey Stadium on Wednesday evening as Paul Aigbogun's wards were forced to chase a deficit for the first time in the competition before clawing back for a draw in the closing stages.
While they have booked their ticket for the U20 World Cup mundial coming up in Poland later this year, there was a wide outcry for plausible quality to be added up to the squad before that competition kicks in.
Below are some of the Nigerians reactions following the loss..
@mykiechuks: ''The truth is that we deserve to loose this game, d boys r poor technically n tactically but they r only physically fit but no football intelligence. There is no way they were going to win d trophy. D coaches should look for talented boys to prosecute d tournament''.
@slammer_10: ''There us still much work to be done on the team, the likes of Jerome Akor,Chukwumeze, Orji Okwonkwo, and some other foreign based players need to be called up''.
@DanielOchekwu: ''If this is the team representing Nigeria at the fifa U20, I'd watch telemundo instead of their games. Very drab tactics and play. Team needs improvement''.
@Steveson03: ''Sorry to say but there was something copiously noteworthy about those players. Don't think those were the best available. Nothing to watch AT ALL in their game, no Player to even single out. Poor, meagre angle''.
@Essiencena: ''Worst team i have ever seen. Zero tactics.. just kick and follow''.
@lastman8483: ''It would have been unfair if this team wobbled n fumbled to the final. Very bad team, selected by the coaching crew''.
@mofealao: ''Their win over Niger was actually a ruse. They did not play well.''
@jaroothifeanyi: ''Why not invite noah okafor, Jonas David and many more''
@sopirinyeJaja: ''Shocking''.
@EgwuonuNnamdi: ''This is what you get when you miss your chances''.
@adeyemi_murphy: ''I don't even understand there pattern of play no skill no team work everything just boring haba''
@akjay7: ''This team with kick and follow football, see where it landed them. They have so much work to do before the world cup''
@SolaBamigboye: ''There is still time for this team to bounce back by inviting more good players. Nigeria is bless with lots of talented players''.
