The Stats That Show Flying Eagles Lacked A Goalscorer : Fewest Goals Scored Since 2001
The Flying Eagles unsatisfactory adventure in the failed bid to win an eighth title in the Niger 2019 U-20 CAF competition has thrown up new antecedents.

Paul Aigbogun's boys who contrived to finish fourth in Niger has, however, found themselves at the end of some unsavory statistics, it has been uncovered.

Having debuted in the 1979 tournament, collated data from the team's previous outings have shown that the Flying Eagles tally of just four goals scored throughout their five game was the lowest recorded by a Nigerian team at the tourney since 2001.

Aside the two goals they managed way back in the 1993 competition and the solitary strike when they finished bottom of their group in 2001, the least number of goals a Flying Eagles team have scored was six in the 2007 and 2013 tourneys though they finished in runner-ups and third place positions in those years.

A victorious 2015 outing saw the team score a record 12 goals which remains the highest number they have managed till this day since the home and away legs were scrapped, while another winning campaign in 2005 came close to matching that record, producing 11 goals along the way.
