Three Former Nigeria U23 Strikers Named In Team Of The Week In Belgium

Three former Nigeria U23 internationals have been named in the Belgian First Division A Team of the Week by Voetbalkrant.

In-form Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Osimhen and Imoh Ezekiel were recognized for their outstanding performances for their clubs on match day 26.

Awoniyi bagged his fourth goal in five games as Royal Excel Mouscron registered a 3-0 win over Cercle Brugge, while Ezekiel opened his goalscoring account for KV Kortrijk in their 2-1 loss to Sporting Charleroi.

Although Osimhen didn't get on the scoresheet this past weekend, he provided the game-winning assist in the fourth minute of stoppage time against KV Kortrijk.

The Wolfsburg loanee has been directly involved in 12 goals (9 goals, 3 assists) from 21 matches in the topflight so far this season.

Anderson Esiti (Gent) and Sidney Friede (Royal Excel Mouscron) were the other Nigeria-eligible players in action on game week 26.
